Have I been in a cave?

Have I been in a cave? No, but you wouldn't know it by the way I keep this blog updated. Instead, I've have the great fortune of shooting many, many wonderful Brides and Grooms, as well as those who soon will be. I've been shooting from the vineyards of the Central Coast to Coronado Island's very own Hotel Del Coronado. It's been a wonderful year! I just have to start posting so all of you will know how wonderful a year it has been.

I'm in the process of building a new blog which will have many of the images from the year so far. I say, "so far" because I still have a couple of weddings and several engagement shoots still to shoot. In fact, I'm off to Santa Barbara on Wednesday to shoot an intimate affair in the gardens out front of their beautiful courthouse. The couple is actually from Australia and came all the way here just because Santa Barbara is such a beautiful place to marry and honeymoon. It's all pretty exciting to me!

I end the year with a New Year's Eve wedding at the incredible Wayfarer's Chapel in Palos Verde. It's a glass church designed by Frank Lloyd Wright's son. You've seen it in many TV shows and films. It's amazing! Again, I'm pretty excited. This couple also will be traveling. But they're from the Northwest US.

I'll be posting again soon!

Don and Tiffany Get Married!

A few short weeks ago I joined Trent of ProImage Photography to shoot this really nice couple's engagement pictures. We had a great time with them, as you saw and read in a previous blog. Then I had the pleasure of being a part of their wedding day as well. The wedding was at a beautiful church in Laguna Beach, and afterwards we went to Crystal Cove Beach where they and their wedding party were in an "anything goes" kind of mood. They were in the water and playing around in the sand. Then it was off to Korean BBQ for the reception. Thanks again, Don and Tiff!

The Proud Bird with Randy and Stephanie

A few weeks back I had the pleasure of shooting a wedding at The Proud Bird near LAX. It was a very cool restaurant/banquet facility whose theme is "flying machines". They have all kinds of cool mock-up aircraft from different periods of aviation, as well as hats, goggles, medals and such. A terrific Bride and Groom, Stephanie and Randy, introduced me to the place. I hope to shoot there again.
Randy and Stephanie were fantastic and full of fun. Randy told the minister before the ceremony to not tary, just "get 'er done!" These are just a very few shots of a terrific day!

Laguna Beach Engagement Shoot

This past weekend I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Don and Tiffany for their engagement shoot. I'll be shooting their wedding with Trent of Pro Image Weddings at a beautiful church in Laguna Beach. For this day we went to a great park and just had fun. Tiffany is just a smile on legs. She couldn't glow more. And Don just loves her for being that way. Put them together and get ready to shoot! We had so much fun! I very much look forward to seeing them again at their wedding. Texas State Celebrity Classic

For the past three years I have had the good fortune to be invited to this event as a celeb playing in their golf/tennis tournament. The event is to raise scholarship money for the Texas State University students' scholarships. It's a great cause and the people at the university couldn't be nicer! Actually, everyone that I met in the state of Texas was terrific. It is a pleasure and honor to participate in the event. It is also a pleasure to hang with many actors and sports celebs and call them peers. After a long day of events to help the charity, you can't imagine how much fun it is to play poker into the wee hours with Glen , Richard, Thomas, Earl, Steve, and the gang.

Here are just a few of the pics that I took during the golf tourney on Monday. I played tennis on Sunday and just watched on Monday. Thanks Texas State! I wish you success in every way you wish it! I'm proud to be an honorary Bobcat.

Eugene Lee and Charles Blackwell

These are two of the masterminds behind the event, along with Dr. Mike Willoughby (not shown). And, of course, there are hundreds of others who help them. Tori Plunkett, the Texas State Ladies tennis coach, headed the tennis activities. What a great job she did!

Earl Billings

Do you think this guy will bluff in poker? That would be a, "yes."

Richard Gant

Richard will be playing Andre Braugher's father in the new Ray Romano show for Lifetime.

Leslie Easterbrook

Still beautiful!! And a really good golfer. What a smile! I think we could use at least one more Police Academy movie.

Charlie Pride

Looks like Charlie is in the middle of a tall tale. He's a legend.

Thomas Calabro

Yes ladies, Dr. Mancini will be on the new Melrose Place. Thomas is also a great guy.

Richard Karns

Always ready with that smile, this was Richard's first year. I sure hope that he'll be back.

Bubba Gilliam

There is only one Bubba Gilliam! "This stuff's made in New York City!" You know it! Just don't have beans around the campfire with this guy. Who remembers that scene from Blazing Saddles?

Malibu Engagement Shoot

A couple of weeks ago I went on an engagement shoot with my buddy, Trent Buckle of ProImage Photography, http://www.proimageweddings.com/. Trent is the go to guy, if you ask me. Not only is he a great photographer, but his clients love him for the time and expertise he gives to their occasion. He serves all of L.A, and even destination weddings like those up in the San Luis Obispo area. Enough about Trent, let's talk about the terrific couple that we were shooting, Rhonda and Joel. Trent is shooting their wedding up in San Luis but found these great locations in Malibu for their engagement shoot. They were game and ready to face the elements. As you'll see in the pictures, it got pretty cold for us mere mortals, but the couple was tougher than either Trent or myself. I guess Love will keep you warm. In a couple of pics you'll see Trent talking to and directing the couple (one in very warm clothes). It's extremely important, not only for your photographer to have his camera skills, but to be able to communicate with the couples. I believe that to be a strength of mine as well, it's just hard to shoot myself. Rhonda and Joel were so much fun!
